BASIC LECANOMANCY NUMBER FOUR-PENDULUM & RING OF SYMBOLS

  1. This form of lecanomacy requires a clear glass vessel, a chart with a ring of symbols around the outer perimeter, and either a ring on a thread or a pendulum if you’ve got one on hand. I have not seen any instructions that oil or water be used at all with this. Really, I would categorize it as more pendulum dowsing than lecanomancy, but it is still technically dish-divination.
  2. Calm and center yourself, clear your mind, ask for guidance from your usual entities to Whom you appeal when divining.
  3. You can ask a specific question, or you can simply say, ‘what do I need to know right now?’
  4. Hold your pendulum or ring on a thread over the center of the bowl or dish while you ask your question, then observe as the ring or pendulum begins to swing. It is especially significant if it swings wide-enough that it strikes the side of the bowl or dish, but fundamentally what you’re looking for is any symbol or symbols your object-in-motion is swinging-at. It may be only one symbol, or multiple symbols, but these will constitute your answer. Below is a PDF with a ring of symbols I designed and an interpretive guide to help you discern their meanings:

Note: these two downloadable charts can be also be used in lithomancy (stone divination) or pendulum divination. They’re multi-purpose charts. But here again, you don’t have to use my ring of symbols. You could create a hand-written one with symbols which relate to your specific question.
