EXAMPLES

In my first attempts with this method of numerological assessment, my mind latched onto characters from the Harry Potter series. It was a lingering question in my mind from the Harry Potter books which led me to create this website, so I was immediately curious to see what the Square of Nine could tell me about James Potter, Lily Potter, Harry Potter himself, and Severus Snape. J.K. Rowling has established actual birthdates for her characters, which is a big help.

James Potter

James Potter’s birthday was March 27, 1960. Right away, one can see James has both the Arrow of the Planner and the Arrow of Intellect. Once he knew he wanted Lily Evans, he set his planning skills and considerable intelligence on the goal of winning her. He’s lacking a four in his chart, so he didn’t like to work hard, but with the Arrow of the Intellect present, he probably didn’t need to, and the Arrow of the Planner’s love of order somewhat compensates for the lack of the four’s sense of order. He has a two in his chart, indicating some degree of sensitivity, but he’s lacking a five, which indicates an inability to understand and empathize with others. He didn’t know how it would feel to be Severus Snape, and he didn’t care, frankly. Certainly, he never seems to have picked up on Severus’s deeper feelings for Lily. With the two present in his chart, he was quite sensitive to his own feelings, and very partnership-minded, so if he hadn’t fallen for Lily, he probably would’ve married someone else who went to Hogwarts.  The seven indicates he was probably an excellent student, and the six, that his home life was no problem for him.

Lily Potter

Lily Evans Potter’s birthday was given as January 29, 1960. With two ones in her chart, she was well-spoken, even-minded, and likely an innovator, a leader, and independent-minded. The two nines indicate both that she was a deep thinker, a brilliant mind, and probably every bit as smart as James. That she likely was not patient with lesser intellects than her own is also indicated by the nines.  Lily has one of those ‘negative’ arrows in her chart—an arrow formed by a lack of numbers in a straight row. Lily had the Arrow of Skepticism. She learned to ask questions and not believe what she was told right-off-the-bat. The six in her chart indicates a happy home life, her sister Petunia’s attitude notwithstanding, and the two indicates a sensitivity and marriage-mindedness.
