The Progressive-Reductive Formula
This is an off-shoot of the Progressive formula. A funny thing happened when I played around with the Progressive Year formula, reducing each successive fadic year to a single digit, not leaving it as a compound number. When I did that, I found other significant years in my life, and more of them.
The way I did it was this. The first fadic number, derived from my birth year, was 17 (my recurrent number), and I left that as a compound number. But instead of using the compound number of my first fadic year in order to find the next fadic year in my life, I reduced my first fadic year to its single-digit number. That reduced the interval from a 25 to a 7. Adding 7 onto my first fadic year, I arrived at the year I entered graduate school to train for the occupation which became my primary focus in life for over 32 years. I added the digits in that year and arrived at the year before my first job-transfer to a new location, and the year a niece and a nephew were born. I added the digits of that fadic year together, and arrived at the year I gained another niece and changed religions. I added the digits of that fadic year together, reduced it to a single-digit, and arrived at the year I moved to my current place of residence.
The progressive-reductive formula yielded a lot more fadic years than either the recurrent or progressive formula did, but somehow, it worked. It didn’t pick up on the same years the recurrent formula or the progressive formula did, but still, they were years of significance, however small.
If you’re using the progressive-reductive formula, don’t start it by adding up the numbers of your birth year, reducing that number to a single digit, then calculating all your successive fadic years in the same way. I tried that approach, and it mostly picked up on unimportant years. So use your first fadic year as the starting point when using the progressive-reductive formula, not your birth year. It just works better that way.
