USING THE CARDS IN A LAY-OUT
Given the fewer number of cards, these cards (obviously) work best smaller lay-outs. Three-card layouts, all three of the five-card lay-outs I mentioned in a previous lesson, and another method I haven’t discussed yet, the Six-Card Hungarian method, will all work with this deck. I first learned the Six-Card Hungarian method years ago, from the late Eden Grey’s Mastering the Tarot. It appears below:
Traditionally, after shuffling the cards for the Six-Card Hungarian Layout, you’re supposed to separate the deck into three piles in a row, then take the top and bottom cards from each pile for the Past, Present and Future cards. But that’s for Tarot decks. This deck is so small, I find the chaos method of shuffling works best (swirling it around on the table-top with both hands in a mish-mash fashion). I then deal the cards from the top of the pile, in the order numbered in the diagram above.
TIME FOR SOME EXAMPLES
Example 1: a lot of people, up until recently, (and some, still) have been very aggravated with Nancy Pelosi (U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives), wanting to know why she’s seemingly been dragging her feet on any punitive measures against wrong behavior by the president. On September 20th, I decided to do a Six-Card Hungarian spread, just to get an overview of what’s up with her lately. I turned up the following spread:
PAST PRESENT ATTITUDES FUTURE
Moisture(Toad, Reversed) Fire (Dragon) Heat (Phoenix)
Air (Eagle, Reversed) Water (Dolphin) Cold (Polar Bear)
The Toad and the Eagle, both reversed in the Past, tell me that at one point in the past, she’d been feeling indecisive and uncertain as to how exactly to proceed in this matter. The Dragon and the Dolphin, both right-side up in the Present Attitudes position, tell me she’s been finding her strength and seeking unity among the Democratic caucus to support a more punitive stance against the president.
The dragon in her is coming awake. The presence of the Water/Dolphin card tells me she’s starting to enjoy this. She may also be getting ready to torch stuff. Also, what do you get when you combine fire and water? You get steam. She’s probably feeling steamed, both by charges she’s been too timid and by whatever outrage-of-the-moment the president is perpetrating.
The Polar Bear and the Phoenix in the Future tells me she is going to find the courage and strength to force a change or evolution on the current administration. I note the top cards in the present and future are heat/fire and the bottom cards are cold/water. Ferocity is rising to the surface, but underlying that is a cold clear sense of what must be done.

Thanks for posting the cards!
You’re welcome Paul! I still use them, and it’s surprising how much information just a few cards can convey.
Wow,
those look so cool my son would love that. You gave me a gift idea.
Glad to help. It’s a nice, small deck that’ll work in a pinch.
I am reading the book
A charming book. I eventually purchased a copy myself.
