SOME FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS

One thing I try to keep in mind while the top is spinning is consciously trying not to think it toward any particular symbol. I strive to keep my mind blank, and in observational mode while it is traveling. I even try to remain at a small distance physically from the chart and top so I don’t breathe on it and blow the top in any particular direction. You don’t need to have a really specific question for a gyromancy chart. General questions such as ‘What is just ahead for me?’ or ‘What do I need to know right now?’ are perfectly fine questions to ask.

Before I set the top spinning, I usually hold it cupped in both hands and say something like the following:

Gods, Ancestors, Sidhe, Spirit Guides, and Angels, speak to me through this top.

Guide it with your unseen fingers. Of the symbols on this chart in front of me,

which symbols have something to tell me about that which is to come?

I always start gyromancy chart divination with an invocation like this, because it’s out of your control once you’ve set it spinning, so you at least want the assurance that Somebody is guiding it.

If you haven’t seriously spun any tops or coins since you were a kid, you might want to practice and strengthen your hand muscles before engaging in chart gyromancy. Get your hand muscles used to spinning, twisting activity. You don’t want to start your spinner spinning, just to see it immediately lose steam. The longer you can get your spinning object to spin, the more it has the potential to tell you. As for which hand to use, and whether to spin it clockwise or counter-clockwise, I haven’t really observed a difference. I just use whatever hand or direction of spin I feel like using at the time.

With that, I hope you enjoy the Greek Alphabet Oracle chart (either Version 1.0 or 2.0) and find it useful. Admittedly, it’s an experiment on my part, creating this chart. But like any other divination tool, if you approach it in a spirit of sincerity, it should work for you. The Greek Alphabet Oracle neither pulls any punches, nor flatters its inquirer. It tells you the straight, unvarnished truth. Quite a refreshing and valuable thing, really. Have fun!

EXTRA CREDIT: If you understand the Greek language, note if it ever spells a word. If so, what word was it? In your opinion, how well or poorly would this chart work as a tool for contacting the dead?
