ONE FINAL NOTE

People sometimes have moles or birthmarks removed. I was born with a prominent mole on the back of my neck, but I don’t know if it affected my argumentativeness level or not when I had the mole removed in my twenties because it was irritating when I wore a necklace. I don’t know if it smoothed the life-path of a sister with a prominent, irritating birthmark on her back when she had it removed, or not. Certainly, deal with the moles and birthmarks you see, but if you know for a fact the person had one removed, you might want to take it into consideration.

But really, do have fun with this divination technique! It can be entertaining to silently see personalities taking-shape before your eyes—the industrious and the lazy, the lucky and the unlucky, the sweethearts and the otherwise, the noble and the ignoble. Because now you know what to look for.

EXERCISES

Download and study the Maculomancy Guide from the link above for both of these exercises:

  1. Consider members of your own family, relatives, good friends, or lovers whose moles or birthmarks you know well. You might want to write down the name of each person, followed by a list of their moles and birthmarks and where on their bodies these moles or birthmarks are located. Accompany each noted mark with some key-words about its meaning. Given their moles/birthmarks and where on their bodies they are located, what picture of their character does this present to you? Given what you know about each person, is the picture their marks sketch about them an accurate one? Are there any persons in your list whose description missed by a country-mile? If any of these people are open to it, share your findings with them; did they plead guilty to possessing any of those traits, even if they’ve never shown it?
  2. Take a look at the picture on the left at the beginning of this lesson. The mole, a tiny, dark, well-defined one is on her cheek, but close to, and parallel with, her nose, and relatively close to her mouth. What does all this tell you about this person?
  3. Spend a day, or part of one, at a beach or a public pool. People will be scantily-clad, which is perfect for mole and birthmark-watching. You might want to download the Maculomancy Guide to your phone for easy-referral. Without being too obvious, note any apparent mole or birthmarks you see on various bodies. What does it tell you about their owners? From what you can see of these peoples’ demeanors, can you see how these traits manifest themselves? If you dare, subsequently engage one of these people in conversation after you’ve analyzed their moles or birthmarks. Do you get any impression from their conversation that their marks accurately reflect their character?
  4. Given what you’ve observed from exercises 1 and 3, how accurate or not is Maculomancy? Is this a tool you could see yourself using again?
