SOME CONCLUDING REMARKS

As I mentioned earlier, I’d hoped to run this lesson earlier in the month, but there are still eleven months left of this year. It isn’t too late to practice ovomancy to learn how the balance of the year will go for you. So many forms of divination have set, tried-and-true answers; this means this, and that means that. But egg divination, like all forms of scrying, is completely open-ended. It’s totally dependent on the reader’s own assessments, hunches and intuition, and their ability to ‘see’ images in a natural thing, which determines how successful it will be. May all your eggs bring you good fortune!

EXERCISES

  1. Try whole-egg divination, following the how-to above. Specify that it is to cover the remainder of the year. Take pictures of the result, and make notes about what you speculate it could mean. Return to your notes at the end of the year. Did things transpire as you assessed they would, based on the egg white’s formation? Take another look at the pictures you took. Is there any other way they could’ve been read? Given how the year has gone for you, did the egg white’s formation make more sense for you in retrospect, than it did when you first read them?
  2. Try egg-white-only divination, and specify that it’s only to cover the next month or two. Take pictures of the result, and your interpretive notes. Return to your pictures and notes at the end of the specified period. Did the egg white accurately indicate what was to come?
  3. Try colored-egg ovomancy following the instructions above, around Easter or Spring Equinox. If you can get a group of people to participate in it with you, so much the better! Note which egg everyone chooses. Return to those notes three to six months later. You may have to do some discreet inquiries with the choosers, but answer this question: did the related fortune come true for each person?
