Wan (Characters)
The Wan cards represent abstract concepts. Wan cards are associated with numbers. The word ‘Wan’ literally means ‘ten thousand’, and is used for any large number. The more Wan cards in a reading, the more complex the situation.
1 Wan (Open Door)-New opportunities present themselves. Your path has been cleared of obstacles. You may begin something.
2 Wan (Sword)-A choice or decision is necessary. There is balance at the moment, but no progress can be made until a decision is reached. This can also represent twins; people, animals, or anything else which comes in pairs.
3 Wan (Earth)-Stability. Matters revolving around the land, the countryside, an estate, or relocation are indicated.
4 Wan (Lute)-A time to relax, take it easy, and devote oneself to enjoyable pursuits. Music, leisure and the performing arts may be in the picture.
5 Wan (House)-Real Estate. Matters involving a house or a building are the focus here.
6 Wan (Fire)-There is a danger here of burning up your resources, mentally, physically, or financially. This is a strong warning of loss or danger. It can also represent intelligence or inspiration, a mind on fire with inspiration or ideas.
7 Wan (The Seven Stars)-Your dreams, hopes, ambitions, and imagination are important. Writing and literature are indicated by this symbol.
8 Wan (Knot)-The situation is in flux. Some things are either being tied-together, or else they’re coming un-tied. Coming together, or coming un-glued—it’s not yet clear.
9 Wan (Heaven)-The end of a cycle. Achievement and fulfillment. There may possibly a ceremony connected with this, even if it’s only a personal ritual. Soon a new cycle will begin. Spiritual matters may be a focus now.
The reason for the reverse direction is because it is the celestial compass. This is always reversed. I’ve had the Derek Walters deck for over a decade so it is nice to read someone else is using them to divine. Hope you are continuing to enjoy!
