And this example is just playing around with the Pythagorean system. The Chaldean or Angelian systems with these name variations of James Terrell Denham might well come up with different numbers. Deriving someone’s name number does potentially open up a considerably larger can of worms than merely deriving their birth number. The fact remains, you can’t do a person’s natal numerological chart without the name number. Look at it this way: the full official name they started with at birth shows the potential they were born with. The name they currently use reflects what they’ve done with that potential, and how they have chose to express themselves and interact with the world now. So when you do their natal numerological chart, you might want to calculate both name numbers, so the person can see what potential they started with at birth, and what they turned it into.

In order to help you with this phase, I’m including a brief chart, giving you a general idea of how each name number is likely to manifest itself in the person’s life. This is by no means an exhaustive, definitive list of the traits for each number, but it should be enough to give you a working idea:

We now have how to calculate the birth number and the name number, the two key building blocks for a natal numerological chart, under our belts. Next installment: what we do with these two pieces of data.
