A popular form of divination used in Egypt and other Arab countries for centuries is magic squares consisting of tables of random letters, which they call ‘zairgeh.’ There are reportedly many forms of zairgeh, ranging from very simple ones to very complicated ones that require the user to make complex astrological calculations, just to get an answer out of them. The origin of the magic squares is attributed to the biblical patriarch Enoch, but really, nobody knows for sure who invented them.

The ones we’re going to look at here are three simple and commonly-available Arabian Squares. The first, which I have termed the Action Square, answers the question of whether taking a certain action now is acceptable or not. The second is the Love Square, and it answers questions concerning matters of the heart. The third is known as the Success & Fortune Square, and it answers questions concerning general luck and worldly success.
