I came across this Magic Tablet while perusing an old fortune-telling book online. I think I might have covered this one before, but since Valentine’s Day is coming up, this divination tool seemed particularly appropriate, for it deals exclusively with what sort of person you’re going to marry. For the young and the young-at-heart, the question of ‘who will I marry?’ is a matter of perennial interest. Some Magic Tablets are for general, all-purpose use and some are subject-specific. This is the latter kind.

Originally published in the book A Handbook of Dreams and Fortunetelling by Zadkiel and Sibly in 1923, the book was reprinted in 1994. One must admire the honesty of occultists in previous centuries when it came to designing the divination tools they did. They didn’t pull their punches; if you’re destined to marry a drunken, dishonest lout, they’ll tell you. If you’re destined to marry an angel who will adore you, they’ll tell you. This is that kind of divination tool.
