GOOD AND BAD PLANTING DAYS

It seemed like the odd-man-out to the other lists of good and bad days (see separate entry in the Chartomancy section under ‘Good Days and Bad Days Divination), so I held back on discussing it. But since the northern hemisphere of the planet is in the ‘fallow’ time of the year, and spring garden planning and planting probably hasn’t begun yet, this seems like a good time to share it. This is another one of those things from old folklore attributed to an ancient source; supposedly an angel communicated this to Adam, the mythical first man. The nice thing is this list gives the good days and bad days for planting for every month of the year; it’s almost as if the angel who allegedly conveyed this list to Adam knew this planet had a southern hemisphere. So southern-hemisphere-dwelling folk aren’t shut out of testing its veracity.

Assertions are always subject to proof, so for those followers of this website who are also dedicated gardeners, here’s another assignment/challenge: deliberately plant part of your garden according to the designated fortunate days, another part on one of the designated unfortunate days, and another part on a day which does not appear in either the fortunate or unfortunate column. If all you have is a window-sill in a city apartment, you could try the same on a smaller scale. Then note how each set of plants fares during the growing season; was the list of fortunate and unfortunate days an old wives tale, or was there some accuracy to it?
