HOW TO USE IT

It’s very simple. First download and print out the PDF below:

A postscript to this—pages 3 through 6 of this download are the rather wordy fortunes list. Page 7 of the download is a one-page crib-sheet, if you want brevity in your answer.

Place the first tablet with the diamond of letters before you. If you want to cut out the extraneous parts of the page and simply go with the diamond of letters, feel free.  That’ll render it small-enough to place on a lazy-susan and giving it a whirl before closing your eyes and bringing your pointer down on the chart.

If you have landed on or almost-on a letter, that is your answer. Note the letter you selected, then go to the second page of the download, the Tablet of Magic Numbers, and look for the letter you selected. The number below the letter is the number of your fortune. Look for that number in the Oracle of the Magic Numbers pages and there’s your fortune. Please note that all of these fortunes are segregated into either good fortunes or bad fortunes, so they’re not in straight-line numerical order. It’ll go through the ‘good’ fortunes first, then the ‘bad.’

If your pointer totally missed the diamond of letters, no biggie; just try again. If, in three attempts, your pointer still fails to land on anything, then assume none of the possible resultant fortunes apply to your life right now, and consider that maybe you just dodged a bullet. If you don’t have a good fortune coming which the tablet can pinpoint, at least it isn’t a bad one awaiting you.

These fortunes appear more aimed at adults, than teens or children. The source material called it a good chart to use when you want a quick fortune.
