Crossed Bones

Sometimes in a cast, two bones will fall crossed. Crossed bones are significant, and should not be ignored. If two pairs of crossed bones appear in one cast, or three bones are crossed in one cast, then the bones should be picked up and cast again for that reading. Certain combinations of crossed bones will mean certain things, so here’s a run-down of the various bone-crossings, and what they mean:
Fat bone crossing long bone-this indicates a very positive long-term prospect. If you are considering making a change in your life, this bone-crossing suggests the change would be a beneficial one.
Fat bone crossing broken bone-any fears or concerns Scita indicates are overcome by the more positive and calming influence of Thola.
Fat bone crossing small bone-more weight should be given to last part of the reading.
Long bone crossing fat bone-Cohado over Thola amplifies the positivity and strength normally associated with these bones, and whatever concern indicated by Scita in the reading is largely overshadowed by this aspect.
Long bone crossing broken bone-Cohado and Scita cancel each other out. If anything, Cohado diminishes the negative aspect of Scita.
Long bone crossing small bone-Cohado dilutes the modifying influence of Imbay, and leaves the reading in a less-resolved form. If an important decision is called for, it would be better to recast the bones, rather than rely on this aspect for direction.
Broken bone crossing fat bone-with Scita’s concerned nature paramount over Thola’s more positive nature, be wary of the long-term implications of this reading.
• Broken bone crossing long bone-this creates a neutral-to-positive influence on the reading. Scita’s concerned nature becomes a slow steady power for moderation and common sense, when combined with the vigorously-positive nature of Cohado.
Broken bone crossing small bone-this combination introduces a note of caution to the reading. Imbay’s modifying tendency lends itself to strengthen Scita’s concerned, problematic nature.
Small bone crossing fat bone-this pairing can indicate one of two things. The first possibility is that Imbay’s modifying influence is amplified, which can be good or bad, depending on the rest of the reading. The second is that Imbay diminishes Thola’s positive influence in the reading.
Small bone crossing long bone-Imbay’s modifying influence only enhances the positive and optimistic nature of Cohado
Small bone crossing broken bone-Imbay over Scita simply amplifies Scita’s concerned, problematic nature and lends a slightly worrying energy to the reading. Any reference by this crossed pairing to any other part of the reading (i.e., pointing to or touching any other item in the spread) requires special attention.
