Divining with the Sabian Symbols Wheel

As always, ask whatever God/Goddess/Ancestor/Angel/Spirit/Higher Self to protect and guide you in using this tool. I recommend closing your eyes while asking your question out loud, spinning the hand of the wheel the whole time, because you don’t want to choose your answer, you want it to be random. As shown in the two pictures above, you can either spin the hand from the surface of the wheel, or you can hold the wheel in one hand and spin the hand by means of the brad’s wings from below (this is why I glued my Sabian Symbols Wheel to a thick sheet of foam board). When you feel you’ve spun it enough, stop, open your eyes, and note carefully which degree it lands on. Consult the Sabian Symbols Table of Meanings I’ve linked to below. If the spinner lands on a line (and this is why you want to use a spinning hand with a very fine point), you may have to read both Sabian Symbols on either side and determine which is your answer. It’s just possible both Sabian Symbols could be your answer!

You can always ask a single-answer question. Or the past-present-future three-question approach. But another technique I’ve come up with for use with the Sabian Symbols wheel is a four-question process:

  • What is the situation as I see it?
  • How does this situation look to the other person/people?
  • What is the situation as it really is?
  • How is the matter most-likely going to be resolved?

You could, if you wanted, add a fifth question, ‘What action/mindset is called for on my part in this situation?’
