Using the Sabian Symbols as a Divination Tool

There are two different ways, as I see it, the Sabian Symbols can be used for divination, apart from use in an astrological chart. The first way is by using them as a deck of cards. Astrologer Lynda Hill has devised such a deck and they can be purchased through Amazon. Or you can create your own Sabian Symbols deck, which would be a nice challenge for the creative types, as there are 360 distinct images which comprise this divination system.

The second way is, print out the astrological wheel chart I’ve developed for this purpose below, at the end of the lesson, or find any other 360-degree marked circle on-line which you like better, and print that out. I recommend printing out your astrological wheel chart on card-stock, because it’s sturdier. Punch a hole in the center, get it laminated (if you don’t have a laminator at home, some office supplies stores have laminators which they will laminate anything flat that you like, for a fee), then attach a spinner to it, as shown in the picture above. Or, you can cut out the wheel, place it on a lazy-Susan, mark a certain spot on the table below it, then spin the lazy-Susan. Whatever degree lands on the mark is your answer. Both approaches to the Sabian Symbols, cards or spinning wheel, have their good points and bad. It’s your preference.

When I printed out my Sabian Symbols Wheel, I glued it down on a piece of half-centimeter-thick foam board purchased at a craft supplies shop, but you can go thicker, if you like. I cut a hole in the middle, because I was going to attach the spinner (a clock hand, also purchased at the same craft supplies shop) with a brad in the center, and I wanted the brad to be able to move freely.
