So the way you perform this divination method is as follows:

  1. Start with whatever prayer or mind-clearing meditation you normally do.
  2. Taking your pointer, close your eyes or look away, then point to a random spot on the circle. (For added randomness, you may want to cut out the Wheel of Fortune, place it on a lazy-susan, the kind of spinning platform spices and canned goods are stored on in kitchen cabinets, then first give a spin or three before pointing). Look at what zodiac sign you landed on. That’s where you need to focus next.
  3. If you placed this on a lazy-susan, take it off at this point, you don’t need the lazy-susan any more. Place the Masking Wheel over the Wheel of Fortune, with the open ‘pie wedge’ over the zodiacal segment you first chose. You can hold the two flaps open while you point, it’s just that now, you need to land your pointer somewhere within that segment, preferable on a number. Again, don’t look; you’re choosing a number blindly.
  4. Note whatever number you landed on, in what section, then look for that answer in the Wheel of Fortune Oracular Tables.
  5. Please note that some of these answers say ‘consult the Wheel of Fortune again’.  That’s fine; consult it again. But if  the answer you end up landing on in the second attempt says, ‘consult the Wheel of Fortune again’, assume the Wheel of Fortune doesn’t want to give you an answer today, and put it away. Try it again another day.
