Another approach you might want to try is, if you know there’s a deceased person you want to hear from, you could address your question specifically to that person, maybe place the dodecahedron with a particular facet face-up, but that’s no guarantee they will answer.
The Prophetic Coin of the Dead is my own design, and based on the original I covered in an earlier lesson. I think I have designed it in such a way that maliciously-inclined spirits would not want to come through it. But as always, use your discernment. If something isn’t feeling right, just say ‘sorry people, I’ve got to back out’ and immediately discontinue use. Safety First in divination, as in many other pursuits.
With that said, I hope this new divination tool will bring you years of happy communication with the dead and maybe a measure of healing. Halloween seems to be about facing our fears and that which scares us, dark and evil things, and the reality of death, but I see it as also a celebration of family. Samhain, for me, is a time to honor and spend time with the Ancestors, those who aren’t on our plane of reality anymore, but with whom we share an important bond. I hope it brings you treasured communication with the dead.
EXERCISES
- Try using the Prophetic Coin of the Dead with all four answer sheets, only don’t use the Dodecahedron of the Dead. As you look over the answers, do you get a sense for who might’ve given you these answers from the other side? Do you think it was a different person each time, or did all the answers feel like they came from the same source?
- Take up the Dodecahedron of the Dead and ask, answer sheet by answer sheet, who gave the answer for each one. Did any of the responses match your guesses as to the identity of your unseen respondent? Was it all the same person, or was it a different respondent each time?
- EXTRA CREDIT: Try your hand at re-writing the answer sheet. You can choose to re-write either one of the four answer categories I created or create one of your own.
