CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
And that’s really all there is to embers divination. It answers only one question: what is coming in the future? Its usual focus is yourself, but once you get good at embers-divining for yourself, you could branch-out. Set an intention that the embers show you what is in the future for another person, family, group, institution, the company you work for, or a whole country. During the long, cold late-autumn/winter/early-spring months, when we’re driven indoors and fires burn, embers-divining can be an entertaining and enlightening way of passing the time. You can use this talent at a holiday party or a family gathering where, for a little while, you’re on your own and not much to do. You might even loop others into joining you. You could become the resident-expert at this art. On the other hand, this is another one of those divination methods which beautifully hides itself because, unless you say anything, no one knows you’re doing it.
The Divine speaks to us all the time, and They will use any means of communication we ask Them to use. Do be aware that once you start divining this way, you may find They are communicating with you through the embers all the time, whether you’re looking for a message–or not.
EXERCISES
- Embers-gaze for yourself. Make note of what symbols you see in the flames, whether from the symbols-glossary posted above or personal observation. Return to your notes a month, three months, six months, nine months or a year into the future. Did what you see in the embers accurately reflect what subsequently transpired? Was the glossary of meanings at all correct, or did you find that your own personal observations worked better?
- Set the intention to embers-gaze for a friend or family-member, then do so. (If, in your set period of time you see nothing in particular, assume the message is none of your beeswax). Make note of what symbols you saw in the embers. Return to your notes one month, three months, six months, nine months or a year into the future. Given what you know of what has happened in this person’s life in the intervening time, was what you saw in the embers for them accurate? Was the glossary or your own interpretations more accurate?
- Set the intention to embers-gaze for a larger subject; your school, place of work, country, or just some celebrity. Note what you see in the embers and return to your notes periodically over the next nine months. Did any of what you saw in the embers transpire for this subject?
- Looking at the three different subjects you embers-divined for. Which of the three subjects were you able to see the future for most easily or accurately? Did you find embers divining useful or revelatory at all? Would you use this divination method again for any one of these three subjects, or are there other divination tools or methods you find more informative or reliable?
