THE WOOD CARDS

I’ll revisit xylomancy in the next section of divination methods, which I’ve termed ‘artomancy’– divination methods which call upon the diviner’s ability to see images, patterns, and shapes. The relative-scarcity of sources I’ve been able to find on the subject motivated me to develop my own set of wood cards, which I hope tap into each tree’s distinctive qualities in order to convey messages of value to the diviner. The attachment for these cards appears below, along with a box to keep them in. As always, I recommend printing them out on card-stock (mine are on 65 lb. weight, but you could use 80 lb. weight or 100 lb. weight if you wish), then spraying both sides of each sheet with a couple coats of acrylic sealer before cutting them out, consecrating them if you wish, and using them. The last sheet in Xylomancy Cards 2.0 is an optional card-back.

As you’ll see from the attachment above, there are a variety of beautiful woods in the world, each with their own personality and energy. I normally try to keep the printable cards I post on this blog black and white, but to do so with this deck would lose the beauty of the wood. You may note I’ve included some blank-card frames on the last page of the attachment. The reason for this is two-fold: so you can replace a lost card, or more-importantly, add any tree-woods you’d like to see in this deck which I’ve omitted.  I’m including my own in-put on the cards and how to consider them in a reading in the attachment below:
