USING THE ADINKRA FOR LARGE-GROUP OR NATIONAL ISSUES

The Adinkra feels to me like the sort of symbol-system which is tailor-made to address tribal, that is, group issues. It would also be a good tool for communicating with the Ancestors. Since politics here in the United States have been particularly interesting the past few years, I will sometimes use the Adinkra deck when I want a good overview of what is happening nationally. A sample layout of this, which I did a week ago, appears below:

For those who want the diagram, I have attached it below:

I interpreted the above-sample reading this way. Cards 1, 2, & 3 told me that in general, the U.S.A. is holding up well under the onslaught right now, and in Washington D.C. (the sacred place referred to in card 3), someone who is both important and smart is receiving a lot of information they’re keeping under-wraps right now.

The Democrats (Political Party Number One) are concerned with the environment and the economy, the Republicans (Political Party Number Two)( are concerned with discipline, authority, and ‘God’s in his Heaven, all’s right with the world’. As for what is active right now, there appears to be a feeling we really need to learn from the past, insure our security and safety as a nation, and a desire to reconcile the disparate factions of society into one cohesive whole after the strife.

In the near future, there will be a return to excellent and quality representative government, and that the enemy of the country, whoever they are, will stew in their own juice. I sometimes like to draw the next three cards in the pile, just to see what’s coming a little further down the line and oh, Hanna, I drew these three:

Funtunfunefu-Denkyemfunefu, the Siamese Crocodiles, is associated with the saying, “Sharing one stomach, yet they fight over food. There must be unity where there is one destiny.” There will be an acknowledgement we need to get along, if we are to continue being one country. Pempampsie, sew in readiness, speaks of the need for being prepared and finding strength in unity, but I take it as a message of ‘brace yourself and reaffirm unity among the newly-reconciled’, for the final card in the three is Epa–the handcuffs. There are going to be arrests in the wake of this current domestic upset, and it will come as a shock to some of the population when they see who will be arrested and indicted.
