Clear-a clear, colorless reflection indicates some reason for happiness in the near-future. Blue-good luck, peace, tranquility, or physical or spiritual healing Red-love, marriage, possibly a sexual relationship. Yellow-infidelity, betrayal or a double-cross. Black/Gray-foretells calamity, illness, death, misfortune, or the presence of evil. Turquoise-an unexpected opportunity. Violet/Purple-a reason for sorrow in the near-future. Green-success, money coming in, or a wish will come true in the near-future.
These are the traditional color-reflection meanings, but I have a few additional beads in my odd-lot collection, so why limit oneself to just the traditional meanings? If you have any of the following in your beads/stones collection, their reflection catching your eye could mean the following:
Orange-a friendly, enthusiastic color, an orange reflection means a fun social event or get-together in the near-future. Pink-a notable gesture of affection will be shown you in the near-future. Watermelon-a stone with a green perimeter and a pink/watermelon-red center, a notable reflection from this stone means a regenerative, healing experience is just ahead of you. Look again at what has transpired and seen the benefit, even humor, in it. Milky-a reflection off a milky-tinted stone means someone is trying to obscure your vision, hide something, or ‘pull the wool over your eyes’. Iridescent-the ancient Celts called this rainbow-effect color ‘variegated’ and considered it to indicate the presence of the ‘other-worldly’. A reflection off this stone could indicate either an unusual experience in the near-future or a spirit around you. Smoky Quartz-protection; if you have been feeling fearful, grieved or depressed about something, your fears, grief or depression will soon lift, and strength and hope will return.
Since there aren’t many colors in this divination method, and because my collection of beads contains a variety of shapes, I sometimes like to include more than one stone of the same color in the circle. While it is desirable to have all the beads be of the same size and shape, that isn’t always possible. The drawback to this is, some stones may be more reflective than others. To combat this problem, and to increase the likelihood of a ‘random’ result, this is another one of those divination methods where you may want to employ a lazy-susan, one of those spinner-plates originally-intended for storing spices or canned-goods in kitchen cabinets. Just cut a circle of black fabric large enough for the surface of the lazy-susan, arrange the beads on it, then give it a ceremonial spin or three while you still have your eyes closed.
EXERCISES:
- Try this method, asking, “what is just ahead for me in the next week/month?” Note the answer, then return to your notes a week or month later. Did the answer you receive manifest itself in any noticeable or meaningful way?
- If you have a suitable collection of both beads and tumbled stones, try both kinds at different times. One week, employ the beads, asking, “what is just ahead for me?” Then two or three weeks later, use the tumbled stones, asking the same question. Note the results you got with each method. Was one more accurate than the other? Did you find you had a preference for one over the other?
