Domino divination is very simple. All the dominoes are emptied onto a flat surface and turned face down. At this point, they’re called the ‘bone pile’ a nod to the fact that the first dominos were carved from bone. You swirl the bone pile around on the tabletop with your hands while you ask the Guiding Spirit of your choice to guide you to choose the correct tile in answer to your question. When you feel you have mixing up the bone pile enough, stop, choose one tiles at random, and leave the rest aside. I prefer to choose a tile from the middle of the pile, because I think that’s where the truest answer lies, but that’s a personal bias, not an official rule.
The traditional meanings of the six-dot dominoes are as follows:
Blank-Blank: Bad luck is coming. This can be anything from illness or injury, to loss of money or possessions, to somebody at work either quitting, retiring or being fired (leaving the place short-staffed), to some other unforeseen misfortune. Take heart, this isn’t forever.
Blank-One: A stranger, an outsider, or someone new will come into your life to assist you in some way, or to bring you useful information. Do not trust this person until you get to know him better.
Blank-Two: A new relationship is coming. This could be a friendship, a partnership, an alliance or a romance. This relationship will likely benefit you, so be open to it.
Blank-Three: Another omen of ill-fortune. Jealousy or avarice, either your own or someone else’s, may cause unexpected problems for you.
Blank-Four: Some relationship in your life will demand your time and attention. You may have to repair a damaged relationship, or pay attention to a neglected one, or it will cause you problems further down the road.
Blank-Five: You will need to comfort a friend who is distressed about something. Listen to them and be supportive, but resist any temptation to do anything underhanded, illegal or immoral in order to make them feel better. Just be there for them.
Blank-Six: Someone wishes you ill at this time. There may be a false friend or a deceitful person in your environment. You may or may not know who this person is. You may be the subject of malicious and/or untrue gossip.
