THE FOUR TYPES OF CLAIRVOYANCE
Some people fail to use their clairvoyant ability because they’re looking for the wrong sort of image. They expect some clear vivid technicolor image that overwhelms every other sense, and that’s a rarity. The keyword to keep in mind when developing clairvoyance is impressions. The quality of your first psychic visual impressions will be tenuous and evanescent at first. What visual impression or picture in your mind do you get when thinking about a particular person, place, or situation? Learn how to capture those first fleeting impressions and expand on them.
The following are the four types of clairvoyant images it’s possible to receive. If you have clairvoyant ability, you’ll likely find it usually tends to manifest in one or two of these ways, although all four are possible over the course of a lifetime.
- The Literal Visual Image. This is an actual visual image where your brain translates the incoming signal into an exact image or scene, as if you were looking at a photograph or watching a video.
- The Premonitional Vision. This arrives as either a vision in the brain or a dream. It usually happens when your thinking brain is turned off, such as when you’re sleeping, or distracted by something else, such as bookkeeping or laundry. The key thing here is the receiving part of your brain is open and active like a back door you left open, even if you conscious attention is focused elsewhere.
- The Abstract Picture or Symbol. This clairvoyance comes in the form of a color, a pattern, a symbol, or a figure. A meditative state of mind is good for receiving this kind of clairvoyant message, but it can come up during stream-of-consciousness type mental activity, which is why people who don’t think of themselves as clairvoyant tend to dismiss it. It can seem like daydreaming or mental static, where the brain is throwing any old junk into your consciousness, just to keep it occupied.
- The Visual Memory. This type of clairvoyance happens when your brain translates incoming psychic signals into an image from your past that you can understand. The more extensive and experience-packed your life has been, the larger your mental library of visual images will be. For example, you may suddenly and randomly remember a time you went camping at Yellowstone or Yosemite National Park, then shortly thereafter hear a news story about something which happened there. Or you may suddenly remember a trip to Florence, Italy for no particular reason, then shortly thereafter encounter a news story about it or meet someone who also visited there. In both cases, your psychic sense is alerting you via your own memories that ‘something is going to come up for you shortly which refers to this situation in some way.’
The first two items on this list are what we think of when we think of ‘true’ clairvoyance. They make a strong impression on one’s consciousness. The latter two can feel so ordinary, we’re inclined to dismiss as them as the normal thousand and one random thoughts that cross the human mind in a day.
When first developing clairvoyant ability, the Abstract Picture and the Visual Memory may be the first forms of clairvoyance to manifest themselves. They’re more of a challenge to detect and interpret, so you’re encouraged to keep a record of such instances when you think you’ve had them. In the PDF accompanying this lesson, you’ll find a clairvoyance record sheet, which you’re encouraged to print out and use, or simply keep a notebook, and remember to leave space after every such recorded instance for follow-up notes. The follow-up notes are important, because you may find those ‘random memories’ and ‘abstract images’ were actually telling you something important.
