Exercise Two: the Room Test
We’re bumping it up a notch. In the previous exercise, you had direct physical contact. In this exercise, you’re feeling for the essential energy of the room. This exercise is hands-off — you’re going to feel out the fundamental energy of the room with your midsection. You’ll be leaving your psychic receptor ‘open’ and scanning the energies in a closed space.
It’s best you use a place that isn’t home, because you want a fresh environment you’re not constantly exposed to. A friend or neighbor’s house may suffice, but better if there’s a public building or an historic home in your area which is open to the public and within easy traveling distance. If you live near a museum, such as an art museum with many galleries, you may want to try this there, as each gallery will likely have a different ‘feel’ to it.
The procedure is this:
- Sit or stand comfortably, away from anyone present, if possible.
- Close your eyes.
- Take at least one deep breath, or several.
- Focus your awareness on your solar plexus area and feel the impressions you’re receiving.
- Don’t force it. Don’t try. Just be open and aware. You should feel like you have a master antenna in your solar plexus.
- Note the fundamental energy of the room. Is the energy calm or vibrant? Does the energy feel sluggish, smooth, scattered, or blocked?
- Note the predominant emotion in the room; is it happy, sad, angry, distracted, serene, or something else? Once you identify the emotion, what variation of this emotion is it? For example, if it’s happy, is it a joyful happy, a smug happy, or an amused happy?
- Are there any areas of the room where you’re noticing a particular concentration of energy? If so, what sort of energy is it?
- Note any other impressions you get. Do you sense any secrets, a presence, any information about someone connected to an item in the room?
- If you can, briefly go to several other rooms or environments in the same building and tune-in the same way.
Later, compare and contrast any differences in the feelings you sensed from each location. Use the PDF below, or take your own notes and follow how this PDF organizes the information:
At first, this exercise may take several minutes. With practice, you’ll get to the point where it’ll take less time, even instantaneously. Try it in a variety of places in order to strengthen your sensing skills, and better distinguish a wide range of psychic impressions.
