I’ve been working on a divination lessons project that’s taking longer than I’d hoped, but I didn’t want the month of April to end without posting something. So here is a Wheel of Fortune I’ve been trying out lately on a weekly basis. I found this wheel of fortune in Madame Endora’s Book of Fortunes. I haven’t been able to find the source from which the authors got this, nor have I seen this particular wheel of fortune anywhere else, but the pendulum indicated the source material came from late fifteenth-early sixteenth century metaphysician Cornelius Agrippa.
What makes this wheel of fortune different from most others is two-fold. Number one, this wheel of fortune can be used on a daily basis. I’ve never seen any other wheel of fortune which makes that claim. Number two, it’s a hands-on wheel of fortune; you use your finger to trace out a path on it, although I suppose you could use a pointer. No spinning surface or spinning object needed.
TO USE:
- Focus your mind on a specific question. If using it as a daily oracle, your question could be something along the lines of, ‘what is a key theme for my day?’ or ‘what can I expect to happen today?’ If using it to seek further information about a specific problem, your question could be something along the lines of ‘what am I missing in this?’ or ‘can you give me a clue as to how this matter will resolve itself?’
- Look at the chart, and let your intuition take over. Is there any particular circle on the wheel that is calling to you? When you’ve chosen a circle to start with, note the element symbol in the circle. You then need to pick any number from 10 to 20, then trace your finger along the connecting lines, in a clockwise direction, that number of times, until you arrive at the terminal circle and its element symbol.
- Note the element symbol in that second circle, then pick another number from 10 to 20, and trace your finger in a clockwise direction along the connecting lines that number of times until you arrive at a third terminal circle and its element symbol. Note that symbol.
- You now have the three element symbols you need for the answer-code pages. Turn to pages 2 through 5 for the answers. The first element symbol you chose will determine which page has your answer.
For those whose intuition is off-line, I have created a die on page 7 of the PDF which you can print out on cardstock, assemble and use. You will simply need to roll the die until you have three symbols. But do try the traditional way first; one of the side-benefits of practicing divination is strengthening your intuitive muscle. Page 6 is a record sheet for keeping track of your consultations with The Four Elements Wheel of Fortune and how things worked out. If you decide to use it on a daily basis, then in a week or two, you should have enough evidence to determine if this is going to work for you or not. But I do hope you find it helpful.
EXERCISES
- Ask a question about something from your past. Did the answer you traced-out on the Wheel make sense in terms of the subject? Did it yield an insight into that past event you hadn’t considered before?
- Use the Wheel on a daily basis for a week or two. Keep track of your questions, the Wheel’s response, and any follow-up observations on the record sheet provided in the PDF. Looking over your notes, was it mostly hits, mostly misses, or half hits half misses?
- Ask a question about something that’s a mystery to you. Note the answer you get and return to it later. Did the answer make more sense after letting some time pass?
