FINAL REMARKS

Aside from its convenience as a chartomancy method—you just print it out and use it, then store it flat—the Arabian Square’s tromp l’oeil arrangement ensures the randomness of the answer that the inquirer receives. Unless they’re one of those savants who can look at the Arabian Square and pick out each individual answer in an instant, it preserves it’s secrecy in plain sight. The drawback to the Arabian Square is its necessarily-limited answers. It won’t dive deep into an issue like the Tarot can, it just gives a short and pithy response. On the other hand, sometimes short-and-pithy is all the answer the inquirer needs! The Arabian Square is yet another one of those divination tools which could be employed as a Fun Party Game.  A properly-composed Arabian Square is intriguing and to-the-point, but will not be worded to unduly frighten or offend the inquirer. I hope you find these two Arabian Squares I developed for this lesson useful and reassuring. And do try your hand at creating one yourself; you may find the Arabian Square is your jam, and if it isn’t, you’ll better understand the effort and mindset that goes into its creation.

EXERCISES

  1. Think of a deceased person you would treasure hearing from. Ask this person which message comes closest to what they have to say to you, then use the Arabian Square of the Dead and note the answer you receive. Given what you know of this person, does this answer resonate with you?
  2. Using the same chart, ask them if there is any other message they have for you and note the answer you receive. Taking the two answers together, what message do you get from this person?
  3. Consult the Arabian Square of the Spirit Guides and note the answer you receive. Do you know what the spirit guide(s) were talking about with this answer?
  4. Using the same chart, ask them if they have any other message for you and note the answer you receive. Taking the two answers together, what message do you get from your spirit guides?
  5. Having used both Arabian Squares, what would you say are the strong points of this divination tool? What are its limitations? Can you see a wider application for the Arabian Square, or is it one of those divination methods which is probably always going to be of limited use?
